When the real product isn't available for photography, I have found ways over the years to create photo-realistic renderings of products to be able to meet the needs of clients in an efficient and professional way.
Area Rug Simulation
Over the years, I've developed a method to accurately create photo-realistic renderings of area rugs in multiple constructions for use in marketing purposes when photography isn't available.
Area Rug Simulation Use
These simulations were used to drop into lifestyle imagery as well as for print and digital catalogs and presentations
This pattern is a printed pattern on a polyester base. I used the CAD file and applied color matched textures to create a photo-realistic rug and placed it in a prepared room scene.
This woven pattern was need to be placed in a room scene for a market catalog and there were no samples to photograph. I rendered it from a CAD and placed in in the selected room.
High pile woven rugs create a real challenge to render accurately. This particular product was a new collection that had not been woven yet and I simulated it for marketing materials
